OPI Make Him Mine with Rhinestones!

Hey guys! It's been so long since I've posted! I think the last time I posted any nail art was around Halloween. My nails have been in such horrible condition these last few months that I honestly didn't want to post at all, but I've been trying to take extra good care of them so I can start getting back to posting regularly.

The nails I'm wearing today are featuring OPI Make Him Mine from the Mariah Carey Holiday Collection. This was one of the six Liquid Sand shades that were in the collection. This color is a pinkish nude shade with tiny glitters throughout it.

I needed about three thin coats of this for it to be completely opaque. The formula on all of the Liquid Sand polishes in this collection were really good. They weren't thick, they applied evenly and dried nicely.

On my accent nail I added some rhinestones of all different sizes. I haven't used rhinestones for anything in a while, so I really like how this tuned out. Pink and sparkly haha this one seems nice for Valentines Day...

Spring Gradient

Hey guys!  Here is are some gradient nails that I did that I think look really pretty for spring!

I used two Essie colors, but I don't know the name of them because the labels are missing. I do think that the pink/coral one close to my cuticles is California Coral, though.  I did this gradient starting with two coats of the color that I think is called California Coral and then I used a damp makeup sponge to dab the other color about halfway down each nail.

And I don't know if you can tell, but I changed my lighting set up around a little bit before I took these pictures and they came out looking really good besides the fact that the light made my hands look so white! haha

Rainbows & Clouds & Balloons, Oh My!

Look! Another super colorful post! This one is more fun than the one I posted earlier this week because this one has cute little balloons and clouds. These nails were inspired by a couple of Little Twin Stars wallpapers I saw while I was browsing for some nail inspiration.

I used a ton of colors for these, I'll start with the base colors I used. The light pink on all of my fingers, except my ring finger, is Ciaté Cutie Pie. The base color on my ring finger is Lime Crime Milky Ways. The colors that were used for the rainbow are Sinful Colors Sugar Rush, Unicorn, and Sugar N Spice. Those same three colors and Sinful Colors Candy Coated were used for the tiny stars and for the little balloons.

Brown and white acrylic paint were used for the clouds and the tiny details on and around the balloons. The little balloons were a pain in the butt to paint because they are so tiny, but I'm really happy with the heart one. The yellow balloon was supposed to be a moon, but it got messed up when I put Seche Vite on.

In the end, I love these and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Pastel Rainbow

Hey guys! I have been seeing so many people I follow on instagram posting pictures of the spring collection that Sinful Colors recently released, and I just had to go and get all of them. Pastels are perfect for spring and I'm sure I'll be using these a lot, plus I only paid $1 for each of these because there was a coupon in the Walgreens ad last week (I think this coupon expired, sorry guys.) There are eight colors in this collection and here I'm using five, one for each finger!

Starting with the thumb, Cotton Candy, Orange Cream, Unicorn, Sugar Rush, and Candy Coated. I did three coats of each of these for them to be fully opaque. Cotton Candy, Orange Cream, and Candy Coated have a slight shimmer to them that is barely noticeable and it hardly showed up in the pictures.

I know many people probably wouldn't wear rainbow fingers because it seems slightly childish, but I think it's a great way to do something fun to your nails without an artistic aspect that people often have trouble with. All you really have to know how to do is apply polish! Go crazy with colors!

Pink and White Valentines gradient

Hey guys! I'm sure you noticed the two pictures in this post an how different they look. Both of these pictures were taken using the same camera (hard to believe, I know) but the top was taken with a daylight bulb in a regular desk lamp and the bottom with flash from my camera. I'm still trying out different angles, so the picture I'm using now might not be the best, but I still think it looks much better than with the flash setting.

Onto the nails, I really wanted to do a Valentines Day themed gradient to start off February. I originally was going to add hearts to this, but I really liked how the gradient looked by itself so I left it alone. The colors I used for this were Essie Blanc and Lime Crime Parfait Day. Parfait Day is a beautiful pastel pink with a slightly blue undertone. The formula on this polish is awesome and great was great for use in this gradient.

Girly Glitter Gradient

Girly Glitter Gradient, say that three times fast.

This week I needed a short break from all of the holiday themed nail designs, so I did this very girly glitter gradient.  My next posts will definitely be holiday nails.

For this I used more Ciaté colors from my Mini Mani Month Calendar. The pink is called Cutie Pie and it's a weird one. The formula is almost a hybrid of jelly and creme and the formula is very build able. Here I used three coats. Again, the formula and drying time on this was awesome. The purple pink glitter is called Magic Carpet and this was one of the exclusives to the Mini Mani Month set.

Caviar Caviar Caviar

Caviar!  So, I recently bought the Ciate Mini Mani Month Calendar for myself while Sephora was having their 20% off VIB sale. It came with 24 mini bottles of Ciate, 4 of those are mini caviar bottles. With the 20% off I thought it was a pretty good deal and I've never owned any Ciate nail polish colors or tried out the caviar nails so I was pretty excited about this.

Since I've never tried out the caviar before, I went super girly for my first try. The pink color is called Cupcake Queen from ciate and it is a beautiful hot pink color with a subtle blue/purple duo chrome. The formula on this is awesome. It went on super smooth and I probably could've gotten away with one coat.

The caviar mixture that I used is called Prom Queen (Should I call this Cupcake Prom Queen? lol)  and it has dark blue, pink, and silver pearls along with blue, pink and silver glitters. It's hard to see the few glitters that stuck in these pictures.

Anyway, I'm really impressed with this and surprised at how much I really do like this. The feeling of the caviar pearls sticking up isn't as overly annoying as I would've originally guessed.

I'm gonna be so sad when all of the little pearls fall off.

Nudey Neon

This is the second time I've done this mani and I still love it. The last time I did it I had pointy nails, I think it looks good on both pointy and square.

     For this I used
  • Essie Topless & Barefoot
  • Black Poppy Nail Color

The color has no name, but this is what it looks like.

To do this, I just painted half of my nails with Topless&Barefoot. Then, with damp makeup sponge I dabbed on the pink color. Finish with Seche Vite.

Clean Coral

If I had to choose a favorite nail polish color, I'd probably have to say coral. I have so many coral nail polishes it's pretty ridiculous. I got this one while the Sinful Colors were on sale at Walgreens last week.
This is Sinful Colors Island Coral

The glitter is a Color Club that I got at Ross. Unfortunately, It doesn't have a name on it, so I don't know what it's called.

This is just a simple mani, but I really love it. It looks so beachy and the glitter looks like sparkling pink sand!

Melting

So, I keep seeing those iPhone cases that look like melting ice cream. I saw them again on tumblr the other day and I was like "Omg those colors would look awesome on nails!" The blue and pink one, obviously. I've seen the "drip" style nails before, and I've done them once before, but I never thought to combine these colors.

I am so glad I did because I am in love with this. I really can't stop admiring it. It just feels like summer!

The colors I used for this are
Essence You Belong To Me
Black Poppy (the color has no name, unfortunately)

I used a fine tip, slanted brush to draw the drips and the little white lines to make them look more three dimensional.

English Rose

This is my first successful attempt at nail foils. I got my order from dollarnailart.com a few weeks ago and I immediately tried out some of the foils. My first few tries turned out really bad. I then found out that most top coats over the metallic foils completely wrinkle them. I was a little more than disappointed and kinda gave up on them for about 2 weeks.

So, yesterday I was just messing around again and I used English Rose. A foil that I hadn't tried out yet on my nails. It's not metallic like most of the other foils that I got so I did put a top coat on it and it worked!

English Rose is a very sheer, shimmery white with pinkish colored flowers. I put this over two coats of a white, Essie Blanc. My ring finger is OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection that came out a while ago.

I'm really happy with how this came out. I'll admit that I keep admiring them. They are just too pretty not to!
