Color Blocked Neon Stripes
Hey guys, what's up? Today I have some neon color blocked nails to share. Is color blocking still in? Probably not, but oh well, I'll still rock it.
For these nails I started with a base coat of white. I used two coats of Essie Blanc. Then, with a striper brush, I used some black acrylic paint to do the black stripes on all of my nails. After I did the black stripes I went in and added the gray stripes to all of my nails using Zoya Dove and China Glaze Recycle. I let all of that dry for about a minute and I added my neon stripes using Sinful Colors Neon Melon.
I wasn't really going for a pattern here, I just went with what I thought looked nice and tried not to put two of the same color next to each other. Next time I do this I'll probably add more, skinnier, black stripes.
Like always, I finished this off with one coat of Seche Vite.

My First Attempt With Flocking Powder
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a set of flocking powders on ebay. I got them in the mail last week and immediately had to try them out. The first one I tried was this gray one because it matched China Glaze Recycle almost perfectly.
Now, Here are my thoughts on this: I really thought I would like the flocking powder. I don't mind the feeling of things on my nails, and I know some people are bothered by things like that but I don't mind, so I thought I'd like this a lot.
After using this I have a very meh feeling about it. I think it could be because I used a nail color that dried slightly fast, but a ton of the little fibers fell off within an hour! I found that odd because I would paint a coat of nail polish and I immediately would pour some of the powder on and then press it into the polish.
Next time I'll use a nail color that doesn't dry so fast. I really want to like this and it felt really awesome, but I need to do some experimenting.

Watercolors!
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a while again, my computer decided it wanted to stop working again. Everything is good now, and I'm back for real this time haha!
I'm sure you guys may have seen some "watercolor" nails before. I saw a bunch of them last year and never got around to trying it, but I finally did and I really love how them came out!
So, you probably know that this wasn't really made using watercolor, but with nail polish that has been sort of diluted with acetone. Using a nail brush dipped in acetone makes the colors almost like watercolor paints!
I used this tutorial, and started with a white base and picked a few colors that I thought would look nice together. I was going for something that looked like stormy clouds at first, so I started with some gray, blue, and purple, colors. I started with the color that I wanted to show up the least, the gray. After waiting a few minutes for the white to dry, I put about two or three drops of gray onto the white and then, with a brush dipped (not dripping, wipe it off a bit) in acetone, I dabbed with brush onto the dots of color and dabbed it around the nail.
I did this to each nail with each color until I liked the results. At the last minute I added some neon yellow and green (and I'm super happy I did), because it looked really boring and bland with just purple, blue and gray. Then, I finished with one coat of Seche Vite!
I am so in love with how this turned out! You will probably be seeing more watercolors from me in the future. ;)

Icicles!
I'd been wanting to do this for a while, half matte icicles!
I used a ton of colors for this. Here goes, The base colors are two coats of Zoya Dove, then one coat of CND Ice Blue Shimmer then one coat of Butter London Matte top coat.
The icicles are plain white striper polish, then white acrylic paint. One coat of Essie Luxeffects Pure Pearlfection over the them, then some loose blue glitter and then a very thin coat of Zoya Frida. Finish off with Seche Vite over the icicles and done.
I was going to do a tutorial, but honestly you just need a base color and a white polish/striper. Start with two coats of your base polish color and let that dry and then do some crazy, chunky white lines!

Butter London - All Hail The Queen
So I did this last week and forgot to upload it. This is All Hail The Queen from Butter London. This is, what I would describe as, a nude taupe color with a subtle shimmer that has an almost holographic effect. It's really beautiful and I feel like this could compliment lots of different skin tones.
I added a little bronze colors metal star stud because, y'know, that's what I do haha. I got this in a package of mixed up different studs on ebay.

Metallics
Metallic colors are a huge trend for 2012. Lots of nail polish companies have come out with metallic collections for this year. Personally, I'm not really into metallic nail polish colors that much, but I thought I'd try some out anyway.
What I used
- Sinful Colors Casablanca
- Sinful Colors Leap Frog
Casablanca is a silver metallic. The formula is really nice and smooth. I'm actually really surprised that I like this color. I started out thinking that this was going to be a dud. It's not, and it's really beautiful.
Leap Frog is what I would call a dark green gray color. The formula of this one is awesome and this color is really opaque in two coats. It looks slightly more green in real life.
These color actually look really beautiful together, and I'll admit that I love this metallic silver.

How I Do My Border Nails
Hi guys! So I've been seeing a lot of Border/Frame/Outline nails lately and I love this trend! The first time I did this, I painted the border around my nail last. You probably thought that that was the easiest way to do this trend, but I've found a way that works much better, and is much easier, for me anyway.
All you need for this is two nail colors and a white
I used:
Sinful Colors Neon Melon
Kleancolor Concrete Gray
Essie Blanc
Here's how I did it
Step 1. So I started with a nail strengthener and a sticky base coat like always. Then, Put a coat or two of the color you want as the border.
Step 2. Now, take the nail color you want in the middle. Move your nail polish brush in the motion that the arrows go in the picture. Start with it at the bottom like you would normally paint your nails, but leave your border color showing at the bottom. Move the polish brush in a curved motion and pick the brush up just before it reaches the tip of your nail. If you mess up, don't worry! It's an easy clean up!
Step 3. Clean up and Fix up. I had some mistakes that I needed to fix, so I took a white nail polish and went over the gray to erase it. When the white was dry, I just took the color I used for my border and went over it. Then, you can just clean up any messy edges, or clean up polish you got on your fingers.
Now just add your favorite top coat and show off your awesome nails!
