The Forest Spirit

Yeah, I really like animal head silhouettes on my nails. The title for this one was inspired by the movie Princess Mononoke.

I think deer are really pretty and it's the holiday season, so that's what originally inspired me to do this. I did this with regular black acrylic paint and a small detail brush.

The gold is Goldeneye from the OPI Skyfall collection. It's a very yellow gold that is made out of flakes. I have no other nail colors that have flakes like this, so it was really weird to me, but it went on smooth and this was two coats.

Gold Leaf Half Moon

Hey guys! Here is a mani that I am so excited to share, my Gold Leaf Half Moon nails. This started out with my trying to do something completely different and then this being the end result. That seems to happen to me a lot, but that's ok in this case, because I LOVE this! I feel like this would be perfect for a fancy holiday party or something.

The red color I'm using here is Dangerous Affair from Ciate. It's a very deep, dark, red wine color. The bottom picture shows the color more true to real life. I really love the formula on this, and most of the other Ciate colors that I've tried, it goes on really nice and the color is always perfectly even in two coats. It dries really fast too.

The gold leaf is just regular faux gold leaf. I'm sure you could find it at a regular craft store. I put it on by putting a thin layer of clear polish over the red and picking up some shredded gold leaf with an orange wood stick and then placing it where I wanted it. If I messed up a little, I just took the red and covered what I didn't want to show. I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Baker Street and Beyond Cozy

Hey guys! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and had a great holiday, if you celebrated. If anyone went Black Friday shopping, I hope you scored some good deals.

Here are a couple of new nail colors that I got that I thought would look really awesome together.

The blue is Baker Street from Nails Inc. I have been lusting after this color for a while now and I finally got it with my Sephora 20% off VIB. It's a royal blue that is dark and bright at the same time, if that makes sense. The formula on this is smooth and it glides on amazingly.

The silver is Essie Beyond Cozy from the 2012 holiday collection. It's an antique silver micro glitter, so this silver has an almost gold tinge to it. This one is a winner, It also had great and easy application and this is only two coats of it! When I saw it in the bottle, I thought I would for sure need 3 coats, nope.

Holiday Plaid

Ahh the holidays. Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so here is my first official holiday manicure of the season.

This is a glittery red with a black and glitter plaid accent using Essie Leading Lady and Beyond Cozy.

The red is Essie Leading Lady. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with this nail polish. It's a beautiful color, but the formula on this is all wrong. It's thick and goopy and really hard to apply. I only did two coats of this and my nails feel like they have 4 coats of polish on them.

I did the accent nail with a black striper and Essie Beyond Cozy.

China Glaze It's A Trap-eze

Here's a quick post of a swatch of China Glaze It's A Trap-eze from the Cirque Du Soleil collection.
It's a milky white with all different colored glitters and it's freaking awesome. Reminds me of funfetti cake...

Caviar Caviar Caviar

Caviar!  So, I recently bought the Ciate Mini Mani Month Calendar for myself while Sephora was having their 20% off VIB sale. It came with 24 mini bottles of Ciate, 4 of those are mini caviar bottles. With the 20% off I thought it was a pretty good deal and I've never owned any Ciate nail polish colors or tried out the caviar nails so I was pretty excited about this.

Since I've never tried out the caviar before, I went super girly for my first try. The pink color is called Cupcake Queen from ciate and it is a beautiful hot pink color with a subtle blue/purple duo chrome. The formula on this is awesome. It went on super smooth and I probably could've gotten away with one coat.

The caviar mixture that I used is called Prom Queen (Should I call this Cupcake Prom Queen? lol)  and it has dark blue, pink, and silver pearls along with blue, pink and silver glitters. It's hard to see the few glitters that stuck in these pictures.

Anyway, I'm really impressed with this and surprised at how much I really do like this. The feeling of the caviar pearls sticking up isn't as overly annoying as I would've originally guessed.

I'm gonna be so sad when all of the little pearls fall off.

Dry Marble Inspired by Mr.Candiipants

These nails were inspired by Mr.Candiipants' Dry Marble nail tutorial. I really loved them when she first posted the picture, and then she posted the tutorial so I was like "Hey, why not?"

This was actually pretty easy and I think it looks O.K. for being my first try. Next time I'll definitely remember to use a base color that doesn't dry really fast because this would look a lot better if I'd done that. Also, my top coat kinda smeared it... but it's cool.

Kinda reminds me of cheesecake...

Anyway, The colors I used were OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and the gold is ULTA High Roller

Gangrene from WickedPolish

Yay for Indie nail polish! This one is called Gangrene and it's from the WickedPolish Pestilence Collecion.

This color is a milky white base with matte neon glitter. Yes, I said matte and neon and it looks as awesome as it sounds. The white base is packed with tiny, bright yellow glitters, medium sized green and yellow hexes and large green and yellow hexes.

I did need to do a base for this color, I used an off white that I had laying around.

I think the reason I love this one so much is because it's really unique. I mean I've never seen a polish with neon glitter in a white base haha so to me, this one is really cool.

Golden Glitter Gradient

Hey guys! I really apologize about my lack of posts. It's been a rough week with all these storms and the unfortunate passing of one of my pets. I really wanted to update, but to be honest I needed a break. But, now I'm back and everything is good!

This is the first time I've ever done a gradient starting at the cuticle and I really like it. You can expect to see these on me a lot more often because I think they are really easy and classy looking. No tools needed, just start with a base color and then a thin coat of glitter halfway up the nail. That's it. Done.

For this I used Zoya Avery and the glitter is Julep Oscar.
